Did I reach that finish line of the 10k? Yes I did!
Did I run the whole 10k? Well… we had a good laugh.
Thanks to TFL, we had to be up at a ridiculous hour in the morning… 5AM on a Sunday! It’s all good though, this was for a good cause. It wasn’t like getting up at 5AM to go to work or anything like that, if know what I mean? Somehow I was still almost running late but what else did we expect from me?
When we got to the park there we were so many queues and so many people that we had no idea where to start. The clock was ticking so we dropped our bags off and started warming up in the little time that we had, not only for the race but the weather was freezing cold.
Being as silly as I am, I was fooled by the sun again and forgot that it is March. I rocked up in a T-Shirt thinking that I would be warm as soon as I started running and was almost crying when I saw everyone on the train dressed in hoodies, clearly I was the amateur. Thank god Naz had an extra jacket with her.

Despite jumping up and down, we could not feel our fingers and toes.

After some warming up, the time had finally approached – my “eye of the tiger” moment. As soon as the run started, the rain started pouring down. We ran, we jogged, we walked and we laughed until we cried because we were both so unfit for this run. Thankfully our run was not recorded because that would have been embarrassing to say the least, it would have ended up on some sort of EPIC FAIL website somewhere but we reached the finish line!

As a reward for our efforts we got a T-shirt, a pair of socks, an energy drink and a banana. I thought “Thank you ever so much for the banana but I think I would need something more substantial to get my energy back” – a much needed piggy fest was in order so I met my mom for some Iranian food.

Peace out, until next run.
