15 – Weekend away in Surrey and road trip to Bicester Village

Sometimes you just need to get away from the city, and last weekend was one of those times. Just the thought of being in London slightly agitated me so on Friday, I left work at 5PM on the dot and went straight to my friend’s house in Surrey and that was my retreat for the weekend. Another friend of ours came to pick us up on Saturday morning and we drove to Bicester
Village where I had never been before and I am always up for a road trip.

Since I wasn’t the one driving I guess it was extra nice for me, kicking back and just enjoying the scenery and music. We sung our hearts out to Vanessa Carlton – A thousand miles, obviously making our friend (who was driving) do the Latrell head-shake.

We have the footage but that will be kept as blackmail material! This is our new trio theme song.

Here is the song if you want to take a trip down memory lane. Can you
believe it was released in 2002? 12 years ago!

The drive took around 1 hour and 30 minutes from Surrey. I did offer to
drive my friend’s nice shiny white Audi without a driver’s licence, he kindly declined, his loss! We arrived happy and ready to shop.

We love window-shopping and trying on things which we’ll never buy! Poor guy had to wait around while we wasted time.

What does the fox say?

After raiding the whole village, I walked out with just two tops from Ralph Lauren – impressive! Having said that though, I am not much of an impulse buyer.

In the evening we ate, played games, watched 2 Guns and just had a great laugh. This was my favourite part of Saturday.

The next day, on Sunday, the weather was absolutely beautiful so my friend took me to a hill near her house. When I was younger I never used to
appreciate nature. It was always a chore having to walk in the forest on these school trips but now I find it so relaxing as long as there is some sort of view involved in the end – we all know that I’m a sucker for views. Laying in the sun and listening to the peaceful sound of birds was beautiful, it felt like meditating.

Thanks to my two lovely friends (and my friend’s parents), it was definitely the weekend that I needed and one to remember, plus I got to visit two new places.

Au revoir – until our next little trip <3 x

Sounds like a lovely weekend. You probably looked like you could afford the fur. The guy didn’t have anything better to do anyway! I’ll bet I’m the only person in America who knows how to pronounce Bicester! Haha.
