Damn, it’s week 52! I usually say it’s been a long day, or week, or even month but this time honestly its been a long half of a year. As you may be aware, I started a new job in July. Little did I know how demanding it would be. Working and studying at the same time has really put me to the test but hey, 15 exams later I finally passed my last one on Monday and I’m done! (for now) Just in time for holidays and I can not tell you how good that feels.
Yesterday was my last working day of the year, Christmas Eve. We were all keeping our fingers crossed to leave work early but it ended up being an 8-5 day (one hour less than normal at least). Work was pretty quiet though, its holiday period after all.
A lunch at Gaucho put me in the holiday spirit. Its no secret that I’ve been on a hunt for the best steaks in London and I think I’ve got my list now (Gaucho being on it).
That Rib Eye was just how it was supposed it be – thank you for restoring my faith. They don’t have to be chewy, end of story and Gaucho proved it.
Rushing back I finished 3 more hours of work and was officially on holiday! We had some drinking to catch up on since everyone else had already finished hours ago. My colleague and I went to have a head-start drink at South Place before my family gathering.
For some reason it still didn’t feel like Christmas until I finally reached my little sister’s flat, where everyone had gathered. I was the late one as always. The evening was full of eating and catching up, with my mom especially and we are still not done! Christmas for me is all about family and everyone being gathered. No need for presents, although I still got some nice things : )
Most importantly, we are going to Paris tonight! This will be our real Christmas celebration. Over time, we have all become so busy which meant that our last family holiday was 2 years ago! This little getaway is long overdo and came together perfectly for week 52, the final piece of this year’s puzzle and the end of the 2014 chapter <3
I just finished packing as I’m writing this post and I’m ready to go.
