A Wanted Man recently opened in Chelsea and has a very unique concept. Where else in central London can you get your eye brows done, a wax and a good quality brunch all under one roof? Having come back from Melbourne recently I’ve been determined to find quality coffee here in London. Conveniently, A Wanted Man offers coffee made by Singapore based specialty coffee roasters produced by Five Senses Coffee of Melbourne.
The place is split into three floors, A Wanted Man on the ground floor, BrowHaus on the second floor and Ministry of Waxing on the third floor. There is just something so relaxing, unpretentious and laid back about the place, which is a nice touch to King’s Road. Before my breakfast I headed upstairs to BrowHaus for a shaping and colour tweak (£20). It was super quick, friendly and most importantly, I was happy with my eyebrows. What do you think?
After 30 minutes I was already downstairs and ready for some brunch. I can officially say that I’ve finally found Melbourne quality coffee in London! I also tried 3 dishes: Crispy waffled croissant sandwich – a panini-trouncing toastie with Iberico chorizo spread, pickled cucumber, coriander and secret sauce, served hot with a side salad (£7.5). Sourdough waffle with salted peanut cream, blueberry jam and roasted pecans. This was delicious and not too heavy like your usual waffle thanks to the sourdough (£6.5). The avocado with no name – half an avocado filled with a soft-boiled organic Rookery Farm egg and fish flakes (£7). I’d recommend all dishes as they were healthy and light yet full of flavours. My personal favourites were of course the waffle and the coffee.
Because I’m so clumsy I wasn’t able to make my wax appointment on the day as I had a big cut on my leg. I did have a chance to visit Ministry of Waxing two weeks later though. Believe it or not, I had never gotten a wax before because the idea of it just seemed too uncomfortable to me! I went for the lower legs option (£30) and I have to say, it wasn’t as painful as I thought it would be. This is thanks to the coconut oil they use in their soft wax. They also take hygiene very seriously at Ministry of Waxing, the wall says it all.
I was a guest at A Wanted Man but the views are my own and I really do recommend it. So much in fact that I’ve partnered up with them for a competition. Join my competition and you can win brunch at A Wanted Man (up to the value of £15) + a bikini wax or brow shape. Competition closes on 26th of June.
