Last Sunday I went to my first Polo game! Having seen lots of pictures in the past, Chesterton’s Polo in the park in Fulham seemed like a good social day out and it’s quite easy to get to. I didn’t really know what to expect from it as I’m not familiar with the sport whatsoever. All I care about is a nice vibe, drinks and food. Somehow we managed to get a full day of strong beautiful sunshine, lucky!
My colleague and I headed to Hurlingham Park pretty early to make sure we got the most out of our day. One of the sponsors Fentimans was kind enough to give me tickets to Polo In The Park so naturally, that’s the first stall I went and hunted down! I tried their rose lemonade for the first time and I really enjoyed it. The natural taste of their drinks is so refreshing and is a nice change to your usual fizzy ones. They offered some nice cocktails on the day too along with a gorgeous garden area to sit in.

I’m going to be honest, I didn’t watch that much of the polo. I was too busy getting excited by my surroundings, the weather, the food and the drinks! The whole day pretty much consisted of eating and drinking in the sun. Also, there were so many stylish people out to play. The sun does indeed bring out the sexy people doesn’t it? I had my favourite brisket bun at Smoke Stak which I’d highly recommend (sorry no picture evidence as my camera decided to play games with me but take my word for it).

I also had a steak and lobster roll. I know….. and that’s not all.

These nachos were shared to be fair but the guacamole at Maze Grill was on point!

I may or may not have also tried merengue… don’t judge.

This all needed to be watered down with some good old drinking. Caught in action! Who can resist Pina Colada in a pineapple? The Mahiki tent had all sorts of cute and tropical cocktails. The music in the tent was rocking too. Any tent that plays Jay-z gets my vote!

OK, I also managed to catch some of the Polo at the end. We managed to get some seating with a good view so at least I can say I’ve seen it!

Until next year xx
