Sofitel Hotel Lisbon Review

A while ago my mom and I visited Lisbon for a short weekend trip. It’s amazing how the place you stay in can make or break your trip. In this case, Sofitel Lisbon completely made our holiday. We fell in love with the city and also with the hotel.

First of all – location, location, location. The hotel is well placed right in the city centre on Avenida da Liberdade. It is a prime shopping district and is very close to the Barrio Alto and most major Lisbon attractions. We didn’t have to use public transport much at all. The front desk staff were so lovely, knowledgable and helpful from the very moment we walked in until the moment we left.

The rooms are spacious, very clean, cosy and comfortable. All utilities were working perfectly fine and most importantly, the Wi-Fi connection was very strong. The room we stayed in overlooked Avenue Liberdade but the road noise was not intrusive

Ladies… the mirrors are massive. Bonus point.

The breakfast was amazing but rather expensive for €25. Luckily we got breakfast as a part of our booking with Avios so be sure to check for deals which include breakfast. They serve fresh pasteis de nata, need I say more? Everything on the buffet was fresh. The standard hot dishes like omelette, egg, bacon and sausages were of course available too.

My only complaint is that some parts of the hotel seemed a bit run down and in need of a renovation, such as the lift. Also, there was a queue for the breakfast in the mornings.

Other than that it’s definitely worth the extra spend and I’d stay there again.

4.5/5
