I’ve shared this over social media quite a lot so those who follow me there will already know that on Friday night, I won the UK Blog Awards food category!! This weekend has been crazy and I’ve really felt the love, thank you so much everybody! Being up against so many amazing blogs, I honestly didn’t expect to win.
The awards were held at the Park Plaza Westminster hotel. We arrived around 7PM and were greeted by a room full of friendly and beautifully dressed up people. With the awards being sponsored by Odeon, there were lots of drinks, popcorn and fun movie based stands to take photos at. I wore a dark navy blue dress from House of Fraser and was accompanied by family (check out my sister’s blog). We could not have had a better evening. Big shout out to Gemma Newton, Founder & CEO of The UK Blog Awards, who does such an amazing job in organizing these awards and providing such nice recognition in the blogging industry.
When I started my blog back in 2014 as a simple motivation to go out and experience new things in life, I never thought that it would lead me to my biggest passion and also open so many doors for me. Not to mention being the UK Blog Awards 2017 Winner under the food category. It’s taken 3 years for Catch52 to collect it’s first award! My blog to me is more than just “a blog”. It’s my baby which I’ve kept going through thick and thin, despite life taking over at times! I can always count on it to keep me inspired and motivated. Speaking to one of the judges who was explaining the lengthy judging process made me feel even more appreciative for being recognized for every bit of work that us bloggers put in.
I’m genuinely so thankful for the people whom I’ve met through blogging and the restaurants & brands that I’ve gotten to work with. I’m also again very thankful for those who I’ve connected with online, who have followed my blog, taken time out of their day to read my recommendations, left positive comments, voted and constantly encouraged me to continue.
I’m excited for this new platform and the positive start to a new chapter. There will be a lot of changes this year which I’ll share with you soon. In the meantime, watch the video below which my sister captured and please subscribe to my new Youtube channel :)
