Victory House in Leicester Square is one of London’s newest hotel openings. It opened its doors in December 2017 and is quickly becoming a popular option amongst hotels in the West End. Victory House overlooks Leicester Square and offers a prime location next to theatres, restaurants, shopping and top tourist attractions.
I visited on a Friday after a very hectic day so it was nice to have a little staycation in central. The entrance to the hotel isn’t very tricky to find as long as you look for Leicester Place which is located in between Maison Du Mezze and Ruby Blue.
The check in was smooth with no problems at all, although it was probably rather confusing that I was checking in without any sort of luggage or bags. I’m as local as they come by now!
I stayed in one of their Executive Rooms overlooking Leicester Square. Our room was quite spacious with a hallway leading up to the bedroom area. The interior was modern and bright. We particularly loved the carpet as well as the black and white bathroom tiles. In the room you can find welcome fruits, coffee and tea maker, a 40″ TV and mini fridge with complimentary soft drinks. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept like a baby, but for those light sleepers it’s advised to bring earplugs because Leicester Square doesn’t sleep on a Friday night.
After my crazy day full of technical issues, I noticed that the free Wi-Fi was insanely fast and I managed to get heavy uploads done in a matter of minutes. This is something I pay close attention to when it comes to hotel reviews and Victory House passed with flying colours.
In terms of facilities of the hotel, there isn’t much in all honesty. The hotel has made the most of its space offering 86 rooms and a great location. As as guest you have complimentary access to Gymbox on St Martins Lane, located 5 minutes away from the hotel. With everything at your doorstep, there’s probably not much you’d want to do at your hotel anyway, apart from eat. That’s where Petit Bistro comes in. Petit Bistro is their tucked away French restaurant on the ground floor with a very reasonably priced food and wine menu.
Breakfast is also served downstairs at Petit Bistro but we decided to have it in our room instead. I was very happy with my Eggs Benedict with the generous amount of Hollandaise Sauce added on top of it. My sister had the scrambled eggs which she was a fan of as well. The orange juice was real and fresh. In summary we loved the breakfast.
