It may come as a surprise to some, but I am a big fan of Formula One races. I’ve been to two races in my life, one in Melbourne and one in Barcelona. I couldn’t help but to feel super excited when I saw an e-mail invite to a lunch preview of the 2018 Grand Prix Ball at The World’s End Market. The Grand Prix Ball will be held at The Hurlingham Club on the 4th of July, which I’ll also cover on my blog.
We gathered to hear all about the world of Formula One, the ball and other exciting upcoming events by the organisers GP Management. GP Management is focused on Grand Prix as well as adventure travel, celebrity experiences and other extravagant events like space tourism (that’s right, space tourism!).
The guest of honour at the lunch was none other than Perry McCarthy aka the original Stig from Top Gear.

The World’s End Market is a recently renovated Grade II listed public house in Chelsea, dating back to 1897. Inside you’ll find a very modern pub style restaurant with an extensive menu focusing on meat and seafood. The lunch started off with a refreshing cocktail. We got to sample The World’s End Market’s signature steak and new menu dishes such as: Baked seabream and cherry tomatoes with rice and dill / Chermoula chicken with nutty couscous / Super salad with quinoa, rocket and pumpkin seed / Green gaspacho with salmon tartare / Pan fried chicken liver with caramlised apples.
Don’t forget to check out the whisky bar and secret terrance on the second floor if you visit.

I can’t wait to attend the 2018 Grand Prix Ball. There will be everything from race cars, a red carpet, champagne reception, 3-course dinner to live music. Most importantly it’s all for a great cause. All proceeds of the ball will go to Wings For Life, a spinal cord research charity. Tickets to the event can be purchased here. I’ll be attending the ball with my favourite date – Marjan Focus aka my sister and partner in crime. Make sure you check back in July for a full post all about the ball!
Thank you GP Management and JPR Media group for arranging such a lovely lunch, and World’s End Market for hosting.
It is a surprise that you like F1 but all the hospitality is right up your street.
