LIVING ROOM – TOP PICKS

Home is not a place it’s a feeling they say. I absolutely love the feeling of moving into a brand new place, starting with a blank canvas and making a house a home. It’s all about the interior and all the little touches you add to it.

Last year we moved to an unfurnished flat and had lots of fun on our home project. We wanted to go for a clean and simplistic Scandi feel. As a Swede, I always somehow gravitate towards that.

As I received quite a few requests on social media, here are my top picks for the living room.

MADE.COM – Chou Click Clack Sofa Bed, Quartz Blue (£299)
This lovely sofa is very sturdy and easy to adjust into a bed. It doesn’t take a large amount of space in the living room which is perfect for 2 people who want to have the occasional guest over for the night.

The sofa is on the firmer side but still comfortable. I like the blue colour combined with the angled wooden legs.

MADE.COM – Cushions (£29)
We got 2 cushions as well from Made. I have an obsession with yellow at the moment so I definitely wanted to add a pop of colour into the living room with these cushions without making it too distracting.

IKEA Plants
You can never go wrong with a bit of plant shopping from IKEA. We created our own little jungle in the corner of our living room. My favourite is definitely the tropical looking Monstera.

Ikea also sell these versatile seagrass baskets (£13). I used them for my plants but they could equally work as little laundry baskets or other forms of storage. They also have them in white and brown (£10)

We also found another great value seagrass box set for £8

HUDSON HOME – Ribblesdale Throw (£90)  (they now only sell it in grey)
This soft throw is an off white ivory colour which we chose to match the carpet. The fabric is made from 25% alpaca, 25% wool, and 50% acrylic.

These beautiful ornaments were also from HUDSON HOME but are no longer on sale. A bit of inspiration nonetheless :)

WAYFAIR.CO.UK – Shag Rug by Epperson (£79.99)
This cream shag rug fit the dimensions of our sofa – 160 x 220 cm. It’s a good quality rug but definitely needs a little time to soften and puff up once it’s out of the package.

AMAZON.COM – Lotuscrafts Zafu Meditation Cushion (£29.95)
This meditation cushion is like a firm beanbag which can also be used for a bit of decoration. The cushion is very durable and it provides great posture when used for meditation. Last but not least the colour matches the sofa nicely (yes, I’m all about colour co-ordination!)

TOM DIXON – Brew Biscuit Tin (£110)
This wide round biscuit tin is copper-finished, and has been fashioned with a brushed steel interior that keeps all your biscuits in delicious condition.

RINKIT – Harbour Housewares Industrial Coffee Table (£60 – a bargain!)
It’s a very simplistic industrial looking table that is very budget friendly. We’ve been using this coffee table and have no complaints about the quality so far.

I hope you enjoyed this interior blog post. What are your favourite living room items? I’d love to hear.

Disclaimer: Items from MADE.COM, Tom Dixon & Hudson Home were gifted. As always, I would only highlight products I genuinely use and like.
