I’m Em, a Swedish born Iranian who’s been living in London since 2007. I’m the kind of person who can’t stay in one place or do one thing for too long. I absolutely hate being restless and feel like we would be wasting our youth if we didn’t do something fulfilling with our time. When I wasn’t office bound 10 hours a day, I was usually out traveling or stuffing my face at a newly opened restaurant. Now I live to eat and travel my way around the world full time – one experience, restaurant and location at a time. Hopping between London and the world, I like to explore all foods and also travel styles, whether that’s hostels, Airbnb, luxury hotels, solo or with people.
Where does “Catch52” come from?
I started this blog at the beginning of 2014. The new year is always a period which gets me thinking about where the time has gone and what I’ve achieved. I realized last year that life was just comfortably passing by and I wasn’t making anything amazing out of it. I work in finance, 10 hours per day and it can get repetitive as with any office job. There is more to life than just work! Life is too short – we should enjoy it and push ourselves out of our comfort zones. I began a 52-week project of doing something new every week of the year, hence Catch52. I created a bucket list and my blog to hold myself accountable to my promise and encourage others to do the same. 2014 was an amazing year with amazing new experiences. In 2014 I traveled alone for the first time, visited 6 countries and most recently went on to conquer my fear of Skydiving! Naturally, Catch52 has grown into a London Food & Travel blog.
What camera do I use?
A Nikon D750, together with a 50mm 1.8 prime lens and a 16-35 wide angle lens for travel.
