If there is anything that can cheer me up during a hard day at work it’s food – heavy fatty food. (No wonder I’ve gained weight over the last few months). Payday had arrived, I was having a bad day so I thought F it! I’m going to have that burger at Gaucho I’ve been eyeing out.
I visited Gaucho last December and was very impressed by their steak so I really wanted to see if Gaucho burgers lived up to the same kind of hype. Similar to my last visit, I was quite pressed with time, trying to keep a one hour lunch limit. We arrived and made our order straight away and mentioned that we were in a hurry. Nowadays the burgers are only served well done to avoid any consequences that may come with uncooked meat. This is completely understandable but is something to make note of you like your meat cooked in a certain way.
The burger took around 20 minutes to arrive and came split in two separate pieces, showing just how much stuffing is actually in the burger.

The burger contained smoked bacon, caramelised onions, provolone cheese, garlic mayonnaise and ketchup. Despite it being cooked rare, it was very tender and juicy. The fries that came with the burger tasted rather uncooked though.
The wines at Gaucho are something you can’t go wrong with, however having said this, the list is generally somewhat overpriced. I had a glass of Rosé of Malbec (£7.50).

The burger cost £15.95 – at this price you’d except something outstanding. Whilst the burger was very good tasty and of great quality, the fries and the preparation time did bring it down a bit. Gaucho isn’t a lunchtime spot if you’re in a rush but never delivers bad meat, that’s for sure.
